Last mentoring session with AB Development
It was mid-January 2004 and I was just about at the end of my mentoring sessions with Vicky. This was to be my last mentoring session and then that would be it, I would be on my own. I had been told that if I needed any help or advice then I could still contact Vicky, and I was glad of that. It felt like the whole thing had been rushed through and that I was being dropped in at the deep end.
Prior to the final session with Vicky my assignment had been to find and categorise the websites that Zeus had found until I had 100 - 200 potential link partners categorised. Now bear in mind that in a my previous post ‘Glenn Canady’s Gorilla Website Marketing - more problems‘ I had mentioned the problems that I had encountered with Zeus and that I had been instructed to continue anyway, despite the fact that it still wasn’t trained properly. If you have ever used Zeus then you will know that using it just after it is trained for the first time is difficult. Using it when it is not trained properly is next to impossible. So finding 100 - 200 sites was something of a nightmare. I worked virtually 24 hours a day to try and do this. In fact I did at one point work for 2 days solidly on it trying to get to the number required. I was determined that there was no was I was going to fail and that I was going to make this work.
By the time the session with Vicky came around I had just over 100 (and I mean just over) sites categorised. We spent the final session with Vicky taking me through setting up Zeus to email potential link partners, and having shown me how to email one of them then that was it. All my sessions were finished.
